March 2008 Memphis continues to work hard and is really perfecting his walking skills. He is a super active two year old and loves cars and trucks. His latest new thrill is being able to walk outside, his favorite place to be.

He enjoys his neighborhood playground and just getting to be "one of the guys". Thanks to the generosity of caring people Memphis has acquired some wonderful Rehab equipment which is totally necessary to secure his future.
The theme of the Molnlycke Health Care company national sales meeting was "Embracing Growth". Jim Wetrich, President, wanted to honor someone who had embraced growth and life and he chose Memphis for this wonderful honor. The company generously flew Memphis and his family to Austin, Texas to present them with a $15,000 donation to Memphis' Trust fund. Not only will this check help to meet Memphis' huge financial needs but the family is also very indebted to this company for their outstanding line of wound care products. Their amazing Safetac technology benefited Memphis greatly when he was dealing with skin care issues after his amputations. Yes, this company has played a huge role in Memphis' life and we'll always be indebted to them for both their technology and their generosity and support.
April 2008 The second annual "Team Memphis" ride was once again a huge success. Jay Ballard did an incredible job of leading this effort. Both riders and spectators had a great time, topped off with a fun lunch and great entertainment at Tony's. Watch for announcement information pertaining to next year's ride. More photos of the Ride here.

Memphis has received his third set of prosthetic legs, thanks to the continued generosity and wonderful care from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He selected a "Mater" decor, one of the characters from "Lightnin McQueen" to decorate his new legs. He continues to work hard on his PT and is making progress in his quest to walk.

October 2008
Memphis is three years old!! Memphis celebrated his third birthday and is your typically active, healthy, happy little boy. He loves cars and trucks, bugging his big sister and bouncing on the trampoline. Memphis is fiercely independent and has his own way of adapting to meet his needs. You'll notice how he eats his birthday cake by balancing it on the end of his arm; he's a good eater and refuses to have any help; this determination and independence will serve him well as he meets numerous challenges.

This little boy has incredible challenges ahead of him but these challenges are lessened by the generosity, love and support of caring people, like you. Memphis will learn to do all those things that other little boys do , he is just going to do them a little differently. Won't you please help give Memphis a better future by clicking on the donate now link or contact us if you feel there is another way you could help.
